AUTOMATIC POLISHER GMM ASTRO
Brand: GMM
Single-head automatic polisher for regular or irregular slabs of marble, granite, stones.
Technical features and options
Versatile and effi cient for polishing or calibrating slabs with diff erent types of heads or tools.
• Head with Frankfurt abrasive holders for polishing, diamond tools for calibration, and brushes or rotating wheel plate for bush hammering.
• Satellite or tangential head with oscillating arms for polishing granite, stone, concrete.
• Automatic control of abrasive consumption.
• Automatic slabs thickness detection for calibration operations (optional).
• Multi slabs contour detection with digital camera (optional).
• Automatic head change for a maximum of eight in the standard version (optional). Possibility to install a higher number of heads extending the Y-axis travel of the machine.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
• Main structures of the machine is made of electro-welded steel carpentry normalized to ensure perfect dimensional stability and durability over time. The surface protection cycle of the machine involves sandblasting, preliminary hot dip galvanizing by immersion, and lately application of triple coating paint layer.
• X-Y motion axes. Brushless motors manage the X-Y motion axes with absolute encoders that keep the positions of the axes memorized even in the absence of electrical power and do not require a zero cycle at each machine start-up.
• Horizontal slide movement (X-axis) driven by precision rack-pinion, synchronized without play, on hardened guides with recirculating ball protected by bellows. Cutting and return speed of the slide carriage with independent electronic adjustment.
• Horizontal movement of the bridge (Y-axis) driven by precision rack-pinion, synchronized without play on recirculating ball guides protected by bellows. Precision bearing drives the lower guide part on a fl at track.
• Vertical lifting-lowering movement (Z-axis) of the head-holding spindle slides on a large chromium cylinder protected by bellow. The movement is pneumatic with adjustable pressure.
• Centralized automatic lubrication (optional).
• Inverter to vary the spindle speed so as to optimize the polishing on the various types of materials.
• Stainless steel electrical panel fi xed to the machine, with electric controls and 15 “color video touch screen for displaying machine data and programming the work. Possibility of connection to the company LAN network.
• Operator interface, based on Microsoft Windows operating system and entirely developed by GMM, allows to fully exploiting the potential of numerical control and to program operations in a simple and intuitive way. The camera (optional) allows to quickly detect the perimeter of the slab to be polished and the software allows to program all the polishing sequences each with a diff erent head, speed, pressure, type of path (perimeter, horizontal, vertical, zig -zag, circular, etc.) It is possible to program the polishing of several heads / pieces in sequence. The polishing
pressure combined with each head is automatically changed by the software. Thanks to the automatic detection of the slab thickness (optional) the calibration operations are quick and simple to set up and can also be carried out in successive passes with adjustable thickness. On request, the machine can remotely send production reports and the machine operation status
• Machine safety to CE standards. Hazard area closed by polycarbonate and steel barrier with folding doors equipped with interlocking system and safety lock.
